George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley says the recent call to have Justice Clarence Thomas removed from the Supreme Court over his wife's views on 2020 election fraud and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot reflects the left's "raging impeachment addiction."
Turley's comment follows revelations about texts by Thomas' wife, Ginnie Thomas, sent to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on the issues.
"The calls for Justice Thomas' impeachment are entirely disconnected from any constitutional or logical foundation," Turley tweeted Sunday. "Rather, the Thomas controversy shows how the impeachment mantra has become a raging impeachment addiction.”
Turley's comment were reported in a story by the Daily Wire that cites one elected official, Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, calling for Thomas, appointed to the high court by GOP President George H. W. Bush, to be impeached.
"Clarence Thomas needs to be impeached," Omar tweeted Thursday.
