Reports from Springfield, Ohio, are getting uglier by the day.
As many as 20,000 Haitian immigrants have arrived in a town of just 58,000, thanks in large part to the Biden administration’s expansion of the Temporary Protected Status program for immigrants from that nation.
The splashiest claim out of Springfield — that the Haitians are eating the locals’ pet cats — generated a social media firestorm with no apparent basis in reality. (Cute memes, though!)
But tweets seemingly from locals going back to March contain claims of Haitians capturing, killing and eating ducks from a local park.
