Former first lady Michelle Obama will not be attending President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration next week after she also skipped former President Jimmy Carter's funeral. However, her husband will be in attendance.
In a statement to the Associated Press, Obama's office said, “Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former first lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration.
The office did not provide a reason for skipping the inauguration, but Michelle Obama has not been much of a fan of Trump since he ran in the 2016 election. Former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton will be in attendance with their wives.
