Vice President Kamala Harris paid Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions $1 million for supporting her failed presidential campaign as she found pricey ways to spend a motherload of fundraising. Harris finished her campaign $20 million in debt even though it had raised $1 billion.
The Harris campaign gave the $1 million to Winfrey’s company on Oct. 15, the Washington Examiner reported, after the author and talk show host headlined a September town hall for Harris that included sympathetic celebrities. In a stagey interview with Winfrey, Harris declared that she would deal with any intruder who broke into her house: “they gettin’ shot.”
Winfrey was also a special guest at Harris’ glitzy get-out-the-vote rally in Philadelphia on Nov. 4, just one day prior to Election Day, that didn’t bother to get out President Joe Biden. If it wasn’t obvious where her politics were invested by then, Winfrey offered a hearty endorsement of Harris because, "We’re voting for values and integrity," Winfrey told the crowd in Philly. "We’re voting for healing over hate."
