Karmelo Anthony, now 18, the Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco last year, will be claiming he acted in self-defense during the April 2, 2025 stabbing as the Jury selection begins on Monday.
The case took place at David Kuykendall Stadium during a Frisco Independent School District track meet. Prosecutors allege the altercation began when Metcalf asked Anthony to move from beneath a team tent. According to police, Anthony responded by reaching into his bag and warning Metcalf, “Touch me and see what happens.”
