Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) sat down with California Governor Gavin Newsom on his podcast, where the Democrat lawmaker and the governor agreed that President Donald Trump's crime crackdown in DC is a sign of racism, because the city is led like a black woman.
Newsom asked Crockett about her thoughts on the crackdown in crime in DC, and what "dots" need to be connected as Trump has deployed the National Guard to help curb criminality.
Crockett responded, saying that the crackdown is "dystopian" and that the "militarization" of law enforcement started in the state of California, when Trump sent the National Guard to Los Angeles, which Crockett referred to as a "black woman mayor's city." Karen Bass is the mayor of LA.
