A Florida high school teacher who reached a settlement with the district over the “Black Lives Matter” flag she hung outside her classroom was also inappropriately giving students academic credit for non-academic activism, an investigation revealed.
Amy Donofrio was removed from the classroom at the former Robert E. Lee High School, now named Riverside High School, in Jacksonville, News4Jax reported.
“Donofrio was found to have offered students class credit for engaging in activism outside of school and for displaying ‘I Am Not A Gang Member’ merchandise in school photos, the catchphrase of the EVAC Movement brand she cofounded,” according to the report by News4Jax, which obtained a copy of the district’s 248-page report.
