The Department of Justice has launched a criminal probe into Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook over allegations that she committed mortgage fraud. The DOJ issued subpoenas in the case to obtain information about her properties, according to the Wall Street Journal.
This comes as Cook has sued President Trump over his move to fire her over the allegations.
The allegations are centered on whether Cook listed more than one of her properties as her primary residence, which allows for more favorable interest rates on loans when she applied for mortgages.
