Dem lawmakers demand TRILLIONS in reparations for black Americans

Several House Democrats reintroduced a resolution for federal-level reparations for descendants of slaves as well as other people of African descent in America. The resolution calls for the US to give trillions of dollars to black Americans.

The coalition of Democrat lawmakers were led by Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA). She reintroduced the resolution that was first brought by former Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) in 2023. “We’re here to say that there’s no more waiting, no more watering down, no more putting justice on layaway,” Lee said.
 

Rep. Summer Lee on reparations resolution:

“This country has taken so much from black folks and has a debt it owes because for over 400 years and to this very day this country has stolen black labor, black lives, and black futures.”
