Journalist Andy Ngo became the most recent voice to be banned from a Big Tech platform after SoundCloud has permanently banned him from its platform.
Ngo, the editor-at-large for The Post Millennial, wrote in a tweet that he had received an email from the streaming platform that his show, 'Things You Should Ngo' had been removed for violating the site's terms of service - even though he said he had not posted a new episode of the show in more than a year.
'We take the security of our community very seriously,' the email read, according to a post on The Post Millennial. 'We hope that you can understand that SoundCloud is a place for people to share content, which respects our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.'
The company would not specify which of its Terms of Use and Community Guidelines he violated, he said, and did not provide him with a way to find out more information about the charges against him. He said the ban came on June 28.
